As we think more about where our ‘fashion' comes from, why not learn how to make your own garments to your particular style and fit by creating your own patterns. No experience needed, just a love for all things fashion , this one day workshop will introduce you to flat pattern drafting.
You will draft a bodice to your own measurements, and learn how to manipulate darts, create pleats, gathers and folds. You will go home with your own block having learned how to use it to create a number of styles.
Good ruler, a right-angled set square, mechanical pencils, metric tape measure, eraser, calculator, paper shears, fabric shears, pins, thread, tracing wheel if you have one, felt tip pen, masking tape, a roll if brown wrapping paper for making paper patterns and a few meters of calico or curtain lining to create your blocks as a workable toile.
Do you enjoy dressmaking but are scared of using stretch fabrics? Join Charlotte for this class where you will have the choice of sewing up any of 3 patterns...all of which look great on all shapes and sizes!
